The document describes an approach of odor testing applying instrument-based digital olfaction method, e.g. with sensor-array based technology for materials, parts and assemblies targeted for use in automotive interiors. It leverages existing consensus practices and standards with existing automotive OEMs' and other organizations' test methods to address (1) Sample preparations, (2) Experiment conduction protocols, (3) Data analysis and evaluations based on unified objective measurable units for (i) intensity and (ii) discrimination with relevant statistical methods, to guide to a (4) comprehensive reporting methodology.
