Performance Standards for Accessibility Features in Aircraft Cabin Interiors
ARP8478
To generate performance based design standards for transport category aircraft interiors addressing accessibility.
The following operational considerations are not covered in this document: decompression alerts & oxygen mask donning, life vest donning, evacuation procedures, in-flight entertainment (IFE) content, on-board wheelchairs owned by the operator.
Rationale: The carriage of passengers with disabilities presents unique challenges to aircraft interior designs. Industry standards are required to identify the most directly applicable 14 CFR Part 25 requirement in the first instance, and then (in later revisions) to identify appropriate means of compliance that could be used to satisfy the requirements.
