Coordinating Control Oriented Research on Algorithm of Engine Torque Estimation for Parallel Hybrid Electric Powertrain System

2004-03-08
2004-01-0424
The internal combustion engine and motor should be controlled coordinately to meet the demand of smooth power transfer and good drivability especially during transient conditions for parallel hybrid powertrain system. This paper presents the essential technology of how to estimate the engine torque by the measurement and processing of instantaneous crankshaft speed. One multi-injection gasoline engine and one turbocharged diesel engine are selected to manifest the algorithm of engine torque estimation and the experiments show fairly good results for both engines. Consequently an engine torque sensor can be easily calibrated and applied to feedback engine torque in coordinating control.

Automated Mechanical Transmission in China

2000-06-12
2000-05-0149
To improve the performance of AMT, many researches have been done to perfect the shift schedule and the clutch control performance. The new type of actuators of clutch and gearbox driven by motors are introduced, which are easy to manufacture, install and control compared to the hydraulic actuators. During the exploiting of automated mechanical transmission, the boundary points shift law is previewed, and the new methods to make the shift law are proposed. Based on these, the shift law of Santana2000 AMT of Shanghai VW is given, which is proved by the actual run. All of these have theoretical and practical value to develop national automatic transmission.

Study on the Control Strategy of Electric Vehicle Drivetrain

2000-06-12
2000-05-0082
EV should have the same manipulative characteristics as the traditional ICE vehicle to adapt to the driving habits. The control strategy of EV drivetrain consists of the control strategies of accelerator and brake pedal and the optimum energy economy control strategy of all the drivetrain. Based on the characteristics of EV, the control strategy of EV accelerator is designed in detail. This lays a technical foundation for improving the energy economy and operation characteristics of EV and enhancing its competition ability with the traditional vehicle.

Study on the characteristics of driving cycles

2000-06-12
2000-05-0336
The driving cycles reflect the actual operational condition of vehicles. Based on these cycles, the energy performance of an actual Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicle and that of a hypothetical Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) are predicted. The reasons for different results are analyzed using the equal efficiency loops of engine and motor. These lay a foundation for selecting and determining the reasonable driving cycle to select, design and match the vehicles.

CAD of engine dynamic test bed based on hybrid simulation

2000-06-12
2000-05-0348
The hybrid simulation method is adopted to develop engine dynamic test bed based on eddy-current dynamometer. The hybrid simulation scheme of engine dynamic test bed is designed. The principle is discussed. Finally, the CAD method is used to design main parameters of engine dynamic test bed based on simulation ECE15 and US LA4-CH Driving Schedules by Shanghai Santana 2000 car. The results are compared to the actual test results on the chassis dynamometer. The hybrid simulation method is proved to be an efficient way by simulation and comparison.
