Modified Road Profile Generation Using Road-Wheel FRF and Simulation of Dynamic Load Transfer in Vehicle Suspension

1999-03-01
1999-01-0937
For the stress and durability analysis of vehicle components with computer simulation, it is necessary to find forces acting on the vehicle components due to the road profile undulation. In this study, road profiles are regenerated by preserving the same PSD of wheel responses. The frequency response function between road and wheel, the digital signal processing method, and DADS program are used. Simulation results of load transfer at suspension components using this virtual road profiles are presented.

Estimation of Maximum Damping Force and Bending Stress of Suspension Components Using the AutoDyn7 Program

1999-03-01
1999-01-0034
In this paper, stresses at the suspension components are calculated using the joint reaction forces obtained from computer simulation. The Shear Force Diagram, Bending Moment Diagram, and the stress distribution of the damper strut are also calculated. The AutoDyn7 program is used for the computer simulation, which is a vehicle dynamics program developed in G7 project.
