The Microprocessor Torque Meter for Car Test Stands with an Induction Motor as a Load

2005-04-11
2005-01-1037
Always for means of test and diagnostics of car units are made great requirements. First of all there are technical, economic and ergonomic requirements, and also requirements of increased reliability, ecology and high operational qualities. The necessity of a measurement of the torque exists in many car test stands. In a number of stands as the load for an engine the electrical machines are used. Balance machines have the broadest application. Also the torque of the electrical machines is often measured approximately regarding the input current. Sometimes more complex estimations are applied.

Always for means of a measurement of the torque of car units are made great requirements. In the paper presented the opportunities of more exact measurement of the torque using the microprocessor meter and the dynamics of an offered meter are analyzed. The use of the given torque meter will allow improving technical, economic, operational and other properties of car stands.

It is known, that the alternator self-excitation is possible at capacitor loading [1]. From this follows, that the alternator excitation by means of capacitors connected to one or several stator windings, as from simple excitation winding is located on a rotor, is possible. In the report the excitation of the automobile alternator with claw pole rotor by means of capacitors connected to stator windings at rotor open excitation circuit is considered. Thus, for comparison the alternator idle characteristics are received both at excitation by means capacitors, and by means of a simple excitation winding. Besides the other electrical parameters of the alternator with claw pole rotor by experimental way are determined. On the basis of the received data the alternator digital model was developed, it takes into account the magnetic circuit saturation, by using of the received experimental idle characteristics.

The necessity of a measurement of the torque exists in many car test stands. In a number of stands as the load for a engine the electrical machines are used. The torque of electrical machines is often measured approximately regarding the input current. Sometimes more complex estimations are applied, taking into account the field current for dc machines or a slip for ac machines. In the paper presented the opportunities of more exact measurement of the torque using information on current, voltage and shaft rotation frequency are analyzed.
