Estimation of Spectral Response of Surface Materials through Measurement of Temperature Dependence of Total Hemispherical Emittance

1998-07-13
981549
A method is proposed to estimate a spectral response of surface materials through experimental data of temperature dependence of total hemispherical emittance. This method is applied to experimental data obtained for polyimide films with four different kinds of thickness, and the results of their spectral response estimated are shown.

Formation of Blackbody Surface Utilizing Electrostatic Flocking of Carbon Fibre

1996-07-01
961477
Optical properties of blackbody surfaces formed by electrostatic flocking of various carbon fibres are studied, and guidelines for designing excellent optical black surface are obtained. It is shown that the black surface thus formed is also effective to suppress the reflection of electrons hitting on the surface. It will be said that the applicability of this surface to scientific instruments is very large.
