Development of Jatco CVT8 Hybrid for Infiniti JX and Nissan Pathfinder

2014-04-01
2014-01-1788
Conflicting customer demands for reduction of CO2 emissions (fuel economy improvement) and enhancement of driving pleasure are continuing to become more rigorous all the time. Against this backdrop, JATCO launched the transmission for hybrid system with Nissan in 2010, followed by the development of a hybrid system for use on a front-wheel-drive midsize SUV in the North American market. Among the various types of hybrid systems proposed to date, this one-motor two-clutch (1M2CL) parallel hybrid system achieves high efficiency with no engine friction loss during the EV mode and energy regeneration. This paper describes the new Jatco CVT8 HYBRID (CVT8 HYBRID), it is newly developed packaging technologies for compactly mounting the 1M2CL parallel hybrid system on front-wheel-drive vehicles.

Effectiveness Verification of Practice Using the Simple Motorcycle Simulator

2005-10-12
2005-32-0080
The educational systems for driving vehicle are recently progressing every year like aircraft simulator. To know the learning process of training are very important for designing total education system. Therefore this research considers the methodologies of measuring human learning process when the beginner rider practicing by using motorcycle simulator. Here, a motorcycle needs the proper manipulating practice in the event of first riding because the manipulation use both hands and feet with keeping balance. For this reason in this paper it is considered the methodologies of measuring rider learning effectiveness by recording rider behavior and motorcycle movement.

Improvement of the High Rigidity Power-Roller Support Structure in a Half-Toroidal CVT

2004-10-25
2004-01-2930
This paper describes the improvement made to the high rigidity power-roller support structure in a dual-cavity half-toroidal CVT to further increase torque capacity. As a result of re-analyzing the function and parts composition of the previous structure, a high rigidity power-roller support structure, which permits power roller movement only in the horizontal direction, has been adopted. This structure enables the thrust and radial stiffness of the power-roller support to be substantially improved over the previous structure.
