This document is an update of the Connected Transportation Interoperability (CTI) 4501 - Connected Intersections (CI) Implementation Guide v1.01. The existing document defines minimum requirements and provides guidance for nationally interoperable connected intersections that support interoperable applications for signalized intersections. The document will update and enhance guidance for:
- required CI capabilities for infrastructure devices, including J2735 SPaT and MAP messages, and to provide signal timing assurance
- providing positioning information by infrastructure devices
- providing assurance of security for infrastructure devices
- documenting systems integration considerations
Rationale: The document establishes minimum requirements and provides guidance for implementing nationally interoperable connected intersections to support Red-Light Violation Warning applications.
