Assured Green Period to Support Red Light Violation Warning

This technical report describes how to implement the Assured Green Period (AGP), which is a new feature initially identified in the CTI 4501 Connected Intersections Implementation Guide to support an in-vehicle Red Light Violation Warning (RLVW) application. The following topics are addressed in this report:
1. The purpose of the AGP and how it supports RLVW
2. How AGP supplements existing dilemma zone protection through advance detection at signalized intersections
3. Constraints for implementing an AGP using CTI 4501
4. Use cases for testing and validating an AGP
Rationale: This informational report provides infrastructure owner/operators (IOOs) with justification for AGP deployment and how it potentially impacts intersection safety and other operations. Included is a description of how application developers use an AGP to support RLVW applications, as well as guidance on how to integrate an AGP into connected intersection systems.
