Testing & Assessment of MAP using RTCM information broadcast from Connected Intersections to support in-vehicle Red Light Violation Warning
J3238/2
This document provides the necessary testing & assessment methodology to verify the accuracy of MAP using RTCM correction messages to support red light violation warning by defining:
1. Connected intersection performance criteria to meet the needs of an in-vehicle application addressing intersection geometry accuracy
2. Test procedure and tools to assess MAP message accuracy relative to the physical geometry of the intersection
This report also contains the following:
1. Analysis of the efficacy of broadcast intersection geometry
2. Analysis of position correction information enabling connected vehicles to establish correct vehicle lane determination
Rationale: A common methodological approach to connected intersection performance assessment involving test cases and procedures, test tools and analysis techniques is needed to verify infrastructure-based broadcast of MAP and local position correction messages. Consistent standards-based verification of connected intersection deployments is critical to support national interoperability of infrastructure-based V2X applications.
