Rationale:
ARP7449, Vacuum Gauge Calibration, was written to provide a best practice method for the calibration and testing of vacuum measuring systems for thermal processing equipment. Prior to this ARP, there was no guidance to follow. Aerospace standards such as AMS2769 and subscribing aerospace primes require vacuum system calibration to manufacturers recommendations, but many of these recommendations lacked detail instructions on the method of calibration.
