BALANCING MACHINES FOR JET ENGINE COMPONENTS - COMPRESSORS AND TURBINES - ROTATING TYPE - FOR MEASURING UNBALANCE IN ONE OR MORE THAN ONE TRANSVERSE PLANES ARP587

This document specifies those requirements of a balancing machine which make it suitable for the subject class of work.
It will specify:
  1. (a)
    Sensitivity,
  2. (b)
    Accuracy of indications of amount and location of unbalance,
  3. (c)
    Ability to separate the Dynamic Unbalance into two planes and to separate Force and Couple Unbalance,
  4. (d)
    Machine capacity relating to weight and physical dimensions of the rotors which can be balanced,
  5. (e)
    Balancing speed of rotation,
  6. (f)
    Standard balancing machine drive adapter flange dimensions,
  7. (g)
    Standard shroud mounting pads,
  8. (h)
    Power requirements.
