Minimum Operational and Maintenance Responsibilities for Aircraft Tire Usage
ARP5265B
This SAE Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) sets forth criteria for the installation, inflation, inspection, and maintenance of aircraft tires as well as criteria for the maintenance of the operating environment so as to achieve the purpose stated in 1.1. (Definitions of terms related to aircraft tires are found in 2.2.)
Rationale:
ARP5265 is being revised to update Section 5 with regard to a more universal approach to the maintenance of aircraft tire inflation pressures. Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA) TISB (Tire Information Service Bulletin) - Aircraft Tire Operational Inflation Pressure Criteria (June 2012) has been updated to clarify the approach. For consistency, it is essential that the same concepts be incorporated into the SAE recommended practices.
