Grinding of HVOF Sprayed Tungsten Carbide Coatings Applied to High Strength Steels
AMS2449A
This specification covers engineering requirements for the grinding of tungsten carbide High Velocity Oxygen/Fuel (HVOF) thermal spray coatings applied to high strength steels (220 ksi and above).
Rationale:
AMS2449A results from a Five-Year Review and update of this specification that changes Grinding Wheels (3.4.1 and 3.4.1.1), Grinding Process Control (3.6.2 and 3.6.3), Grinding Parameters (3.7), Inspection Requirements (3.8). Added new paragraphs Quality (3.9), Penetrant Inspection (3.9.1) and Visual Inspection (3.9.2), and also Classification of Tests (4.2) and Acceptance Tests (4.2.1).
