Standard Scenarios and Examples of Operation of Airborne Wake Vortex Safety Systems
AIR6288
This document describes operational scenarios and examples of system operation based on the experience of different developers of airborne wake vortex safety systems. This information is intended to supplement the recommendations and guidance given in ARP 6267 “Airborne Wake Vortex Safety Systems” as well as facilitate the application of other wake vortex standards and guidance documents generated by SAE and RTCA.
Rationale: The operational experience encountered by developers of airborne wake vortex safety systems can be of use by the industry to facilitate the development of implementation concepts for such systems. While the information is presently insufficient to generate any agreed upon recommended operational scenarios, documenting the experiences of developers of these systems is useful to the industry in gaining an understanding of how these systems can ultimately be implemented as well as their value and risks.
