Lubricating Characteristics and Typical Properties of Lubricants Used in Aviation Propulsion and Drive Systems

This SAE Aerospace Information Report (AIR) establishes guidance for the specification of formulated lubricant properties which contribute to the lubricating function in bearings, gears, clutches, and seals of aviation propulsion and drive systems.
Rationale: Figure 5 and Table 3 contain values for pressure viscosity coefficient.
It was recently discovered that some of the data in Figure 5 and Table 3 was collected during a time period when a glitch existed in the software used to calculated PV from measured film thickness.
The proposed edits will remove the suspect data and replace it with data collected after the software glitch was discovered and repaired. Small text edits to the paragraphs that refer to Table 3 and Figure 5 may also be required.
