An internal combustion engine has been modified to run off hydrogen. The engine selected was a four cylinder 12 valve engine. This particular engine was selected in order that a wall could be added between the two intake valves to separate the incoming hydrogen and ambient air. Other modifications included adapting the intake manifold, valves, ignition system, spark plug wires, spark plug gap, cylinders, pistons, compression ratio and cam timing. The fuel system consisted of a pressurized injection system. In order to control hydrogen backflashes and increase horsepower, water injection was used. The result of the modifications was a hydrogen powered vehicle which achieved an official speed of 108 miles per hour.
