A Dot Matrix Display Software Development Environment

1991-02-01
910064
An efficient, integrated development environment for a dot matrix display system can permit software and hardware to be developed independently and simultaneously. Such a system can directly spawn a host of development tools that expedite the configuration of dot matrix display systems for many varied applications. A Dot Matrix Display Simulator provides a means for software debug as well as an end-product that can be used in lieu of physical display hardware. By developing systems that satisfy the criteria for application-independence (1)*, a development link can be established between the simulation tools and the physical hardware target. This results in a shorter display development cycle by enabling new features to be tested and added to the physical target with a minimum of difficulty.

An Application-Independent Automotive Dot Matrix Display Subsystem

1990-02-01
900469
Application-independence is the key to reusability and universal interfacing of dot matrix display subsystem designs. Special design rules can be applied during the development of these systems that promote the removal or localization of all application-specific components, resulting in display products that can be applied without modification to many varied applications.

Cathode-Ray Tube Information Center with Automotive Navigation

1984-02-01
840313
The development and implementation of a cathode-ray tube (CRT) display automotive information center with navigation feature is described. A structured approach to the TRIPMONITOR software graphics system design is explained. It is shown that beneficial results occur when various features are grouped together into one display and operation system. Emphasis is placed on the human factors of this next generation driver's aid.
