This paper presents a development of brake simulator for observing the braking behaviour of medium class motorcycle (100 - 150 cc engine). Rotating mass and speed are used to simulate the mass and the speed of the vehicle. Friction between tyres and road is replaced by friction generated by pulleys and flat-belts. Four parameters, namely hydraulic pressure, braking torque, vehicle and wheel speeds can be measured simultaneously to show the behaviour during normal and slip conditions. Furthermore, the braking phenomena using simple antilock devices can be observed as well.
