Internal Combustion Engine Valve Construction and Manufacturing Mean Using the Alloys Based on Titanium 978467
This paper presents the results of R&D work for design and manufacturing of lightweight (mass reduction up to 50 %) valve for internal combustion engine using the Ti-alloys. The valve design is compound: valve stem is made of exact rolled high strength Titanium alloy and valve head is made of γ/α2 Titanium Aluminides. Valve shaping was made using new procedure: Pulse Volumetric Die Forging (PVDF). Patent on composite Ti-alloy valves in pending.
