Multi-Pole Switching Sensor for Rotational Speed Measurement 960754

A new variable reluctance speed sensor design has been developed to determine the speed of a rotating member through apertures created in a second rotating member which surrounds the first. The sensor is capable of reading an output signal from an air gap of 11 mm with the outer member being in any of three possible states of rotation.
