CNG Utilization in Small Engines 940763

Using a 4 cycle engine fueled by either CNG or gasoline, the engine performance was investigated by varying the excess air factor, ignition timing and compression ratio. Also, the effects of adding oxygen gas during CNG operation were investigated.
As a result, it was found that CNG operation was effective not only in improving the brake thermal efficiency but also in reducing exhaust gas emissions.
