Detection of Total Harmonic Distortion Due to Output Clipping in Audio Power Amplifiers 940255
Output clipping detection in audio power amplifiers has become widespread. This paper illustrates the mathematics useful to calculate the clipping total harmonic distortion of a sinusoidal signal as well as the relationship between the latter and the output of a clipping detection device. Furthermore, a few circuital solutions are described in connection with a system dimensioning problem.
