Equations for Estimating and Optimizing the Fuel Economy of Future Automobiles 932877
Equations are presented for estimating the mileage and power requirements of future automobiles. The new equations are significantly easier to use and less time consuming than earlier mathematical methods. The equations are useful for integrated design development of super high mileage vehicles. The equations are additionally useful for quantifying the mileage gain and cost-effectiveness of an incremental design change. The equations are compatible with conventional, alternative fuel, electric, and hybrid vehicles.
