Protection of Glazing of Vehicle Cabins from Frosting Up in Conditions of Low Temperatures (Up to Minus 60°C) 920016

The question of construction of glazing of cabin in interrelation with system of it's protection from frosting up, ensuring of their necessary effectiveness in vehicles operated in conditions of low (upto minus 60°C) temperatures of surrounding air, have been studied by the authors in the paper.
In connection with the put aim, there carried out statistical analysis of distribution of temperature of surrounding air during the cold period of the year in Northern area of USSR, and was obtained the possible picture of time of the vehicle remaining in the diapason of low temperature, taking into account of their distribution within the region, days oscillations, oscillations in length and with related macroprofile of basic operational routes.
By the authors there was proposed the conception of use of operating demands, optimum and assumed, produced to the construction of vehicle and their system, connected with the low temperature of surrounding air, i.e. argumented limit upto which vehicle must keep in full volume laid in the construction of consumers properties and workability at permissible worsening of properties. At extreme diapason of temperature, there is proposed priorty approach for ensuring individual properties of automobile and including established normatives of visibility from the drivers seat.
In the aspect of the problem of ensuring the demanded visibility from the driving seat there cited analysis of construction of glazing of vehicle cabin and system of it's protection from frosting up (single or double glazing, electrically heated glass and so on) and experimental material of their tests. Carried out technoeconomical analysis from the designers point of view.
In further the authors cited the results of investigation of conformities of proceeding of frosting up process considered in the construction of glazing of different vehicles depending on the constructive fulfilment and working regime of the system, it's protection from frosting up in the temperature range of surrounding air from minus 60°C to minus 20°C. Results of the carried out investigations permit the authors to ascertain, in the capacity of deciding factor determining the degree and character of frosting up of glazing of vehicle cabins, intensivity of air flow on the surface of glass. The conclusions made are confirmed by the carried out investigations of the effect of construction of air distributors and mouth piece of nozzle system on the effectiveness of protection of glass of vehicle from the frosting up.
The process of intensification of blowing off of the glass are being investigated by the authors in mutual relation with the permitted total increase of the air motion in the working area of drivers seat and in connection with the previosly shown priority of ensuring the visibility.
In the conclusion the authors propose a series of common recommendation towards the constructive fulfilment and increase of effectivness of the system of protection of glazing for vehicles operated in conditions of lower (up to minus 60°C) temperatures.
Introduction of the proposed recommendations permit to improve the visibility from the driving seat, according to, safety of operation of vehicles in conditions of low temperatures of the surrounding air.
