The Development of the 6CX-ET Series of Small, High-Performance Turbocharged Marine Diesel Engines 911258

The greatest demand of the market with regard to small marine engines is that they be light and powerful, so that, in conjunction with hull improvement, boats can be made faster.
And yet, over the years, demands counter to lighter weight and higher power-such as lower vibration, less noise, cleaner exhaust gas, better fuel economy, higher reliability, and greater durability-have also grown more stringent.
We have developed the 4CX-ET (four-cylinder) and 6CX-ET (six-cylinder) series of turbocharged marine engines for 3 to 6 ton commercial boats and 35 to 55 feet pleasure boats. Based on a design concept of “powerful, speedy, and compact,” these engines have been specially developed to meet these market demands.
