The Development of Daewoo "Storm" Series Diesel Engines 891231
STORM series diesel engines (8-11 liter), which have been moved
into production in 1986, were satisfying the initial development
targets. But after the start of mass production, not only some
troubles which had not been expected during development have
occurred, but the governmental regulations of noise and emissions
have been tightened year after year. To solve these problems, the
improvement works of engine performance have been executed
consistently, and the works of series extension were newly
commenced.
This paper describes the improvement works of STORM engine which
have been done after their commencement of the production.
