Large Scale Analog Vacuum Fluorescent Displays for Automotive Instrument Panels 890285

The newly developed self-standing grid construction method has provided a break through for analog graphics design freedom in Vacuum Fluorescent Displays (VFDs). Utilizing the latest computer simulation techniques, the vacuum glass package can now be designed to accommodate a very large area glass while maintaining the thinnest and lightest construction.
In the past, digitally formated displays have been popular for electronic instrument panels, partly because display devices lacked in the ability to provide large graphic areas. With the combination of Self-Standing Grid (SSG) construction and thin lightweight glass, these innovative technologies make it easier to design and manufacture large scale analog VF displays. These improvements will provide new concepts to consumers who have not previously favored electronic digital readouts.
