Case Study: Magnesium Die Casting Clutch and Brake Pedal Support Bracket 890208

Magnesium, one of the lightest of structural materials is on the brink of meeting the demands of the Automotive Industry, but to date only has a few test causes to prove its validity.
Designers in the past have developed components in aluminum or formed steel and then converted to magnesium with no structural changes. This process does not do justice to the many advantages which magnesium can offer.
Today, designers are beginning to utilize the properties of die cast high purity magnesium and designing automotive structural bracketry with all the advantages of light weight, thin walls, high strength, and intericate shapes eliminating many components and replacing them with one die casting.
An example of this process is the W-car Clutch and Brake Pedal Support Bracket.
