Routine Damping Material Evaluation and Design of Surface Damping Treatments 870986
An evaluation and design system consisting of both hardware and software has been implemented to routinely characterize material properties and to design effective vibration damping treatments. Included is a description of the automated measurement of dynamic material properties, the reduction of these properties to an analytic expression, and the use of this analytic representation to design noise and vibration control treatments. Variations on treatment parameters including weight, thickness, and cost can be conveniently investigated giving the user savings in design time, as well as effective and efficient noise and vibration control treatments.
