Design-Development of The Lucas CAV Multipoint Gasoline Injector 870127

Precise air/fuel ratio is required through out the life of a vehicle to ensure consistent performance and compliance with legislated emissions standards. To play its proper role, the gasoline injector is required to deliver exact quantities of fuel under a variety of predetermined conditions.
This paper describes the key features designed into the Lucas CAV Injector to enable it to perform its task.
Many significant parameters such as magnetic force and valve lift of the injector were optimized. The result is a multipoint injector with an inherent resistance to plugging offering rapid response and a high degree of linearity for large dynamic range.
