In the current weight reduction programmes being introduced by automotive designers, tubing applications are increasing. The requirements for thinner wall sections while retaining traditional loading patterns has necessitated the development of high strength steel grades.
Adapting these steel grades to existing tubemaking, heat treating and cold drawing facilities, has resulted in significant new product development.
