Structural Optimization of Knuckle for Mac Pherson to Improve Mass Reduction and Cost 2012-36-0395

The aim of this work is to demonstrate the methodology used to optimize a knuckle for Mac Pherson to improve weight reduction and cost considering the various engineering design criteria that apply to this type of component. The engineering design criteria surrounding this development and that will be present in the study are: stiffness, critical loads, fatigue and plasticity (permanent deformation).
