Numerical Simulation of Cabin Truck Thermal Comfort 2002-01-3572
The proposed paper aims to present the numerical simulation of the thermal comfort for a given DaimlerChrysler truck. The starting point of this paper took into consideration the results originated in the paper: “Numerical simulation of a truck underhood flow”. The main practical application of this investigation is to evaluate the thermal comfort inside the cabin, throughout the distribution of cabin floor heat flux. Very high temperatures from some engine components such as turbine must be adequately taken care of, otherwise they may lead to high spot temperatures on the cabin floor and cause discomfort to the vehicle occupants.
