Usually, the main considerations for a car customer are price, comfort, safety, economy, practicality, aesthetics and design. The dynamics of these factors during car use are also important. Recently one more important car characteristic became firmly established: the ecological compatibility of car during its total life cycle. This included numerous environmental requirements: the consumption of energy and materials during car production and use, exhaust toxicity, the contents of ecologically unfriendly substances in used materials, the ELV (end-of-life vehicle) dismantling time, and the suitability of parts and materials for reuse and recycling. During development and manufacturing LADA cars, AVTOVAZ considered and solved several environmental problems: reduction of harmful substances, toxicity of exhausted gases, and applying more qualitative materials.

Improving the quality, reliability, durability and environmental safety of production is important strategic goal for any producer and contributes greatly into the image of trade mark and competitive strength of product. Since the end of the 20th century it has apparently been shown that global expansion and human activity has threatened the ecological safety margin of our planet. The aftermath of ecological disasters incurred by human beings and their products could be irreversible. It became clear that the internal-combustion engine and automotive manufacture as a whole influenced not only local environments, but also created global effects with significant consequences. Nature calls for a competent and careful attitude. It is substantial that mankind rethink how important are the tasks of the environmental protection, preservation of natural resources and maintaining stable environment. This study analyzes AVTOVAZ influence on the environment.

AVTOVAZ Inc. (trade mark: LADA) is the biggest Russian passenger car manufacturer. It produces about 75 % of all national passenger cars. For 3 decades of its history, the factory has made more than 20 million passenger cars, 1/3 of them have been exported, mainly to European countries.

At first, a car is anintegral component of local environment of human being and has a great ecological influence on him and the environment during its production, service life and recycling. Besides, it historically turned out that car manufacturing has an important political status, being the face of the country, reflecting its scientific, technical and technological achievements [1]. AVTOVAZ Inc. is the biggest in Russia passenger car manufacturer. It produces about 75 % of all national passenger cars. For 3 decades of its history the factory has made more than 19 million passenger cars, 1/3 of them has been exported, mainly to European countries. Nowadays LADA cars fleet have more than 11 million items. There are 8 million of them only in Russia.
