The development of a new truck is a hard and complex task that can be optimized using computers. The VMS (“VEHICLE MISSION SIMULATION”) is a computer program that simulates the vehicle performance and can help the selection and configuration of the best powertrain package for a specific application in a fastest and less expensive way.

System Of Fuel Injection Of In-Line Fuelpumps With Variable Beginning Of The Injection, In Accordance With The Load Imposed.

The variable injection timing, according to the LOAD CONDITION, on DIESEL engines equipped with in-line fuel pumps, can be considered an important tool to reduce NOx levels and Combustion Pressures at high load state and keep acceptable HC levels at low operating temperatures and no load running. The Light Load Timing Advance (LLTA) system consists on a cut on the top of the plunger, creating a two steps plunger. It allows retard the start of injection at high load conditions and/or advance timing at low loads, depending on the reference state target. Other benefit from the LLTA is the specific fuel consumption reduction at partial loads conditions, due to the advance timing.
