Hardware/Software Complex of Crew's Service of the Regeneration Life Support System Operation: Formation and Localization of Off-nominal Situations

2009-07-12
2009-01-2551
The problems formation and localization of Off-nominal Situations (OnS) on an Hardware/Software Complex of Crew's Service of the Regeneration Life Support System Operation (HSCCSO) are considered in this paper both at functions separate system and at deviations of crew's inhabitancy controllable parameter values. The HSCCSO is developed for the first ground long-term experiment under ‘Mars - 500’ project. The purpose of this paper is to examine HSCCSO taking into consideration the key of the future mission to Mars (extremely long duration, autonomy, complicated communication peculiarities with the ground Mission Control Center (MCC) because of signal delay, and limited stock of expendables). It is planned to simulate off-nominal and emergency situations caused by failures of on-board LSS and/or the human factor: insufficient crew efficiency, degraded professional reliability and soon.

Analysis Procedure of Heat Modes for the Oxygen Generation System

1997-07-01
972536
The paper reviews one of the possible approaches to developing an analysis technique of Oxygen Generation System (OGS) thermal conditions. As an object of simulation a 30% KOH water electrolysis system with forced electrolyte circulation through the both electrolyzer chamber followed by separation of a gas/liqiud mixture using hydrophobic porous membranes. A formalized description of the key system components (an electrolyzer, set of coolers, separator, canister) is presented. A mathematical model simulating stationary and non-stationary thermal conditions of the system is constructed and its programming is reviewed. Some results of computational and operational experiments obtained for checking the model adecuacy are presented.

A Systems Approach for Design of Integrated Regenerative Life Support System: A Functions Analysis

1994-06-01
941295
This paper deals with a Functions Analysis of the Integrated Regenerative Life Support System (IRLSS) that is of primary importance in forming the functional description and in predetermining the information description when in use the systems approach for the IRLSS Design. In order to attack the function temporary laws of the IRLSS subsystems and functional blocks the following the principal questions are going to consider: (a) formulating the mains' problems that may be settled when use of the function's analysis and choosing of the methods making available their solutions; (b) forming the mathematical descriptions of the technological processes and working on this basis the simulation models for the subsystem apparatuses; (c) creating the methodological and information support and associated software. The employment of given software for the solution of the design's individual problems and the some results obtained in computed experiments will discuss also.
