Standardizing Requests for Proposals

A standardized method of developing and utilizing Requests for Proposal (RFP) documents greatly improves accuracy and effectiveness of developing fastening systems. Suppliers currently attempt to respond to many formats of varying clarity and consistency. Consequently, responders to the RFP may have low confidence in whether they support customer requirements and if the schedule or price estimates are accurate. The responses are difficult to analyze and compare. This stalls the procurement cycle and can contribute to the development of unnecessary features. Certain styles of RFP result in quality definition of requirements and responses. These shorten the fastening equipment development cycle time and increases the satisfaction of the suppliers and requester.
