2007-04-16
2007-01-0602
This paper is concerned with the simulation and optimization of light optical system research for car lighting projectors. The authors are particularly concerned with: Elaborating on the methods of support engineers to design optical systems for car lighting projectors, to easily and quickly find the final solution to car projector models, Searching for methods to automatically and precisely determine parameters of car projectors under the assumption that the completed model partially fulfills the requirements, Evaluating the implementation of a neural network to search for the defined specific optical requirements.

Calculations of the Automotive Headlamps Systems with the Mixed Reflecting Surface Structure, Supported by CAD Application

2007-04-16
2007-01-0427
The problem of reduction of power consumption by car lighting devices is a constant subject of interest of vehicles designers. The limited power balance in vehicles, as a result of introduction of the bigger and bigger receiver sets of energy number, indicates the continuation of researches in order to improve the power efficiency of devices. The goal of presented problem in article it to create the CAD tools, enabling computer calculations of optical and light car projectors systems with extended light efficiency. Presented theoretical system model along with the study of light calculations method allowed to expand the possibility of uses of projectors with better power and light parameters comparing to conventional systems.

Searching for a Method of Determining Geometric Parameters of a Car Projector at Given Lighting Requirements

2005-04-11
2005-01-1453
This paper is concerned with the simulating and optimising research of light optical systems of car lighting projectors. In the paper an attempt was made to use all accessible information about relationships between elements in a vehicle reflector system, an engineer can choose and change (manipulate) using computer aided design systems and often he has no possibility to use it. Computer science achievements and neural networks were used to optimize automobile lighting of the road in front of a moving vehicle.

A Method for Distributor Fuel Injection Pump and Injectors Diagnostics in Diesel Engines

2004-03-08
2004-01-0030
Proper working of diesel engine depends on non-failure operation of fuel injection system, especially high-pressure injection pump and injectors. One of the most important parameters for fuel consumption economy is correct injection timing. Most automotive diesel engines are timed on No.1 cylinder. Therefore, the injection advance angle can be obtained from pressure oscillation measurement in a single high-pressure fuel line. Proposed method of injection system diagnostics is based on injection pump and fuel line vibration measurement. The measurement is performed using monolithic differential capacitor sensor (accelerometer). instead of piezoelectric clamp. Due to information extracted from measured signal it is possible to find defect in injection system without dismantling the pump, high-pressure fuel lines or injectors.

Modelling and Calculations of FF Automotive Ellipsoidal Asymmetrical Headlamps with MPXL Discharge Lamps

2003-03-03
2003-01-0931
This paper presents the mathematical and lighting models of the FF (Free Form) ellipsoidal projector with an MPXL discharge light source. The use of models based on “elementary reflection” has been suggested for lighting calculations. The light intensity in the specific direction of projector's space has been determined by the “reverse ray test”, which makes possible determination of the shape of the “Figure of The Bright Points” and luminance distribution inside the figure. The procedures presented below facilitate development of computer programs for projector modelling and calculations.
