Local change of PV value on end faces of rocker pins of chain type CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) under transmitting condition

2022-01-09
2022-32-0053
The objective of this study was to investigate the local change of PV value on the end faces of rocker pins driven by a high-performance chain under transmitting torque conditions. A test bench system was prepared to evaluate the behavior of the chain belt under driven state. Local contact force of the pin was measured by strain gauges attached to a specific modified pin for which the thickness was partly reduced by machine work. Change of PV value on the end face of the pin was also calculated by considering the change of pressure generated by contact force and sliding velocity of rocker pin. Autorotation angles of the rocker pins in the groove of driving and driven sheaves were investigated by replacing the normal pulleys with visibly transparent sheaves made with acrylic resin. The representative loading points were also calculated assuming that the pin was regarded as a simple beam where an eccentric compressive load was applied.

Engine Constant Speed Control in Starting and Shifting Process of Automated Mechanical Transmission (AMT)

2000-05-0109
The coordination of engine will influence the starting and shifting quality of AMT. Heretofore, the study on this aspect is mainly limited to the engine torque control. But for the difficulty of installing torque sensor, just open loop control is adopted, so that the effects don't be satisfactory. This paper puts forward the strategy of engine constant speed control in starting and shifting process, based on the view of kinematics and dynamics. The main idea is that the target speed of engine is constituted according to the different throttle opening, and the deviation between the target speed and the actual speed will be limited through clutch control and fuel injection control in starting and shifting process, which not only greatly reduce the work of slipping and prolong the life of the clutch, but also reduce the fuel consumption and the noise, improve the shift quality in starting and shifting process.

Improvement of Combustion Chamber for Small Engine with Side-Valve

1991-11-01
911234
In order to improve the structure of L-type combustion chamber for small gasoline engine (SGE) with side-valve, many uses for SGE and the proportion of production to SGE with side-valve were described. The possibilities and difficulties of improving the performances for SGE with side-valve were explained according to the current understanding of combustion theory for lean mixtures. After the advantages and disadvantages of a L-type combustion chamber with side-valve were analysed, a new combustion chamber configuration with oblique dish-shape was put forward. Basic features of the new combustion chamber were enumerated the bench tests including performances at WOT, at 3000 rpm, air fuel ratio at 3000 rpm, exhaust emissions at 3000 rpm, and measures of indicator diagram data within fifty cycles for 165F engine were also conducted.
