Achieving More Efficient Finite Element Analyses of Cast Suspension Components

This paper compares the use of two solid element modeling and analysis codes with a traditional manually meshed hexahedron PDGS/NASTRAN model to analyze a complex cast component. It was found that these alternate codes produced comparable results and reduced analysis turnaround time, although more experience with each is needed to become comfortable with their use.
