The use of computer simulation in analyzing the effect of variation needs to be timely and accurate in its analysis. It must be capable of analyzing all definable processes during all phases of a product life cycle. This paper describes the process of Variation Simulation Modeling (VSM) used at General Motors - Truck Platforms that has significantly increased the effectiveness and usage of this technology.
