2022-08-30
2022-01-1000
Thermodynamic models based on the volume balance method for calculating the working process of an engine with spark ignition and internal mixture formation are presented. The single-zone model makes it possible to determine the pressure and average temperature of gases in the engine cylinder during the working process. The two-zone combustion model takes into account the change in the volume of the exhaust gases zone and the air-fuel mixture zone. The model makes it possible to determine the pressure of gases in the cylinder and the temperature in the zones under consideration when the air-fuel mixture is distributed over the entire above-piston volume at the moment of ignition. The three-zone combustion model takes into account the change in the volume of the exhaust gases zone, air-fuel mixture zones and air zones when organizing the stratification of the air-fuel charge, allows you to determine the gas pressure in the cylinder and the temperature in the zones under consideration.

Feasibility of Heating the Air in a Hybrid Pneumatic Engine for a Compact Vehicle

2021-09-21
2021-01-1246
The article proves the necessity for heating the air in the pneumatic engine of a hybrid power unit designed for moving a compact wheeled vehicle. The aim is to improve the pneumatic engine operation indicators by heating the compressed air before it is supplied to the cylinder using the obtained theoretical and experimental studies. For the easy-to-use of assessing the effectiveness of heating the air supplied to a pneumatic engine, the experiments were carried out by two pressure ps = 0.7 MPa and ps = 0.9 MPa, according to them the testing of a pneumatic unit was conducted without heating the compressed air at the temperature equal to the ambient temperature Ts = 293 K. Also, during the experiments a pneumatic engine was tested at other temperatures while supplying the compressed air at the inlet to the engine cylinder.

2021-01-0679
This article describes experimental research results of the inductive sensor of the electropneumatic clutch control system for the mechanical transmission. Inductive sensors are used to determine the position of the car body, the position of the controls and the position of the rod of the clutch control actuator. The design of the clutch pedal position sensor is proposed, which can be brought into line with the master cylinder to unify the clutch control systems. Complete unification of the automated electropneumatic clutch control system for trucks will allow creating modifications in which it is possible to completely abandon the use of brake fluid in the drive, which will improve the ergonomic and environmental performance of the vehicle. The advantages of such sensors are the ability to receive a signal in digital form without additional converters, the ability to work using only two wires, no contact between moving parts, resistance to aggressive environments and compact size.

Pneumatic Power Unit for a Wheeled Vehicle

2021-04-06
2021-01-0640
The article theoretically substantiates the choice of the full-load curve of a pneumatic power unit and a pneumatic power unit combined with an internal combustion engine by the example of a compact wheeled vehicle. The aim is to prove the possibility of using a pneumatic power unit for moving the compact wheeled vehicle taking into account work processes of a pneumatic power unit and an internal combustion engine. The unique feature of the considered theoretical approach in justifying the choice of the full-load curve of a pneumatic power unit and a pneumatic power unit combined with an internal combustion engine is comparison of operating modes of units being a part of a vehicle and the using the capacity of different units combination with similar burn processes at 800-1000 RPM-1.

Mathematical Modelling of Operating Processes in the Pneumatic Engine of the Car

2020-09-15
2020-01-2222
The article presents studies of the operating process of the pneumatic engine, that can be installed on small vehicles as main or auxiliary power generating system. The aim is to assess the possibility of converting an internal combustion engine into a pneumatic engine capable of moving a vehicle with a small mass in urban settings with dense traffic flows using mathematical modelling. The behaviour in the operating processes of the engine under study has been performed by the computational method and verified experimentally at the installation created in the laboratory of the ICE department in Kharkiv National Automobile and Highway University. The computational technique in question differs from the existing ones because it is based on a dynamic model of an internal combustion engine. The developed pneumatic engine was mounted on the stand for determining its power, developed torque, compressed air consumption, pressure in its cylinders and the temperature of heating the engine.

2019-01-0029
The article deals with the analysis of one of the methods of selecting rational parameters of automated clutch control system for robotic transmission. The objective is to select rational parameters of automated clutch control system for robotic transmission, equipped with electropneumatic actuating mechanism on the basis of mathematical simulation. The depicted mathematical simulation of the clutch control system is characterized by the possibility to coordinate the algorithm of control unit with the dynamic processes in the execution device. The new functional interrelations between the elements of the electro-pneumatic actuator are mathematically described. The way to the selection of rational parameters of an automated control system for clutch is recommended; the selection taking into account the features of the electro-pneumatic actuator. Using the mathematical modeling method, rational control parameters of the automated clutch control system are determined.

2018-01-1295
This article describes experimental research results of the electropneumatic clutch control device for the mechanical transmission. The aim is to assess electropneumatic clutch control device characteristics to regulate both mechanical and robotic transmission. The feature of the clutch control system having the electropneumatic actuator on the basis of a power cylinder is the use of a control module that consists of an acceleration valve and two electropneumatic valves. A new structural relationship between the electropneumatic clutch control device elements on the basis of the new acceleration valve design is suggested. The assessment of mass and dimension parameters of well-known devices and this electropneumatic clutch control device is provided. A new approach to choose automated clutch control system parameters taking into account the relay electropneumatic control system operation features is suggested.
