Electric Vehicle is the need of an hour, as due to excessive usage of IC Engine vehicles has resulted in the depletion of the ozone layer to a significant level and fuel cost is increasing. With new technologies coming into the market, challenges come hand in hand because of Electric Vehicle. In comparison to IC Vehicle, areas of thermal management or the number of components for which thermal management needs to be done is higher and rather complex. As the thermal management system is the second highest energy consuming source after the powertrain of the electric vehicle, an efficient and reliable design is mandatory to ensure better range in an Electric Vehicle. Thermal Management of the Electric Vehicle has been identified as one of the critical parameters for balancing both cabin comfort as well as Battery temperature. One of the major concerns is meeting the Cabin comfort during colder weather with minimum energy consumption.

Implementation and Experimentation of Effective Clog Removal Method in Tractors for Enhanced Condenser Life and Air Conditioning Performance During Reaper Application

Tractors in the field are exposed to adverse operating conditions and are surrounded by dust and dirt. The tiny, thin and sharp broken straw and husks surround the system in reaper operation. The tractors which are equipped with air conditioning system tend to show detrimental effects in cooling performance. The compressor trips frequently by excess pressure developed in the system due to condenser clogging and hence cooling performance is reduced considerably. The air conditioning performance reduces due to the clogged condenser located on the top roof compartment of operator’s cabin, which is better design than keeping in front of radiator where clogging happens every hour and customer need to stop the tractor to clean it with specific blower.

A Simple Mechanism for AC Compressor Operation

One of the most essential components of automotive HVAC system is compressor. In a vehicle it is directly mounted on the engine. It derives power from the engine feed system to keep refrigerant moving in the HVAC system of the vehicle. It is also essential to complete the vapor compression cycle. During the operation, it causes considerable load on the engine and thus results in lower fuel efficiency and higher pollution. There are several types of compressors available globally. According to construction it can be classified as reciprocating piston type, scroll type and rotary vane type. The reciprocating piston types of compressors are further classified as fixed displacement and variable displacement. Normally the fixed displacement compressors have good idling cooling performance, but it increases the load on the engine. To reduce the load on the engine and to have good idling cooling performance, generally a variable displacement compressor is used.
